Fall Goodness and Easy After School Snack

Hey Friends!

Happy Friday. I forgot to share a recipe post yesterday, that I'll probably save for next week. But today for my 5 on Friday, I thought I'd share a bit of Fall...since it is the first official day. ;)  And I'll share a different quick and easy recipe too.

ONE

This first day of Fall came in stormy and rainy here in the northwoods. A perfect morning for some coffee by candlelight. It's since cleared up this afternoon and the sun has come out. I love this time of year so much!

TWO

I love this time of year because the moon seems like it starts to do magical things, more than any other time of year.

Another reason I find this time of year so special is that the leaves start turning all their beautiful colors and transforming the world around us.

Nice Halloween collection, having withdraws already! http://www.pinterest.com/gmunro/halloween/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheCroatoanCommunity/permalink/1593035634242745/

And this time of year to me means many cozy thoughts of warm sweaters, hot drinks to sip, snuggling under a blanket with a good book, and of course Halloween to come!

FIVE

And I thought I'd finish my 5 with this easy and yummy recipe for pizza crescents. They make a great after school snack for kiddos - or even a small meal if you wanted to add a salad and maybe some fruit.  A perfect warm Fall snack.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. On a cookie sheet unroll store bought crescent rolls and add some pepperoni and mozzarella sticks cut in half to each one.

Roll then up and I even fold over the ends a bit to help keep the cheese inside.

Melt a couple of Tbsp of butter and brush over the rolls

Sprinkle with some garlic powder and Italian seasoning - or whatever pizza flavors you like and bake for about 10 mins or until golden brown.

They should come out nice and hot and melty with the cheese even bubbling!

Serve alongside some warm marinara for dipping.

Other than photos from my kitchen all other credit goes to pinterest. I'm linking with FAST blog for Five on Friday.

Happy Homemaker Monday

Hello Friends

I'm sorry I'm late posting today. I've got a lovely cold and have been resting up a bit. Trying to catch up on life around here after being gone for the weekend too. I have the most wonderful friends ever and they pulled a fast one on me! My girfriends told me that we were going to get away together for the weekend on a little road trip. Well really they were all conspiring as one of those friends cooked up the whole thing and had a different agenda.

So I was all ready and packed for the weekend and then my girlfriend Kristi came to pick me up and then informed me I'd need a little smaller suitcase as we were flying to Chicago for the weekend & I'd only need a carry-on as just her and I were going for a getaway and a special surprise. She wouldn't tell me about the surprise until later that night. Well I was shocked, but I got ready and away we went! Long story short...she had found out Ed Sheeran had added some concert dates and she knew how much I loved him and so badly wanted to see him, so she decided to surprise me with concert tickets! It was the most wonderful weekend and the best concert EVER! Like truly ever!! I didn't want it to end.  My Hubby was in on it too and funded things behind the scenes. My friend Kristi's hubby and my hubby then took our kiddos to a fun theme park over the weekend too. I'm so blessed to have the best friends in the whole world. ;)

THE WEATHER OUTSIDE IS:

It was overcast and gray all day and chilly (upper 50's low 60's) but it didn't rain. Looks like 60's to 70's the rest of the week and some chances of rain. Although may get up to 80's next weekend.

ON THE BREAKFAST PLATE THIS MORNING:

yogurt, coffee

RIGHT NOW I AM:

Listening to Ed Sheeran radio of course! And remembering our awesome weekend.

AS I LOOK OUTSIDE MY WINDOW:

NEW RECIPE I WANT TO TRY THIS WEEK:

Annie's BBQ chicken pasta bake she made last week was a hit - so I'll probably share that one this week.  I'm sorry I didn't another post up last week, but I'll share that pasta and the homemade pizza crust recipes this week.

TIP OF THE WEEK:

FROM THE CAMERA:
At our local airport with my friend and she took this photo as I was calling my Mom and telling her what was going on

Me and my sweet Bestie Kristi getting ready to hop on a plane

We got a recommendation from a friend that lived in Chicago about where to go for lunch and he told us about this amazing restaurant right on the river. It was excellent! We had seats right on the water, the most beautiful view, and had the best food!!

My Friend hadn't been to Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower), even though I had I wanted her to have the experience so we went to the top and of course stood in the clear box with the clear floor to see below. There was a big guy in line next to us and he was even too afraid to do it due to his fear of heights. Lol

The kiddos and hubbies had fun at a theme park (not as much fun as I did with Ed though!) ;)

All ready to see our Ed! We had great seats too. Best concert EVER

He was SO amazing! He sounded awesome and it's just him and a guitar for hours with no real break. I could have listened to him forever. I will treasure these memories forever and I would go to another one of his concerts in a heartbeat.
